Dads–Space

Requirement

Dads-Space logo As part of its Parent Know How programme, the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DSCF) wanted to expand its support for fathers to make a unique contribution to the lives of their children, help to decrease isolation in fathering, and challenge Dads to aspire to do more for themselves and their families.

Solution

Dads–Space tackles the full range of parenting issues 'from the playful to the painful'. Our strategy is to reach hundreds of thousands of Dads by providing entertaining and informative content and distributing this across the web to the audience. Our destination website provides no–nonsense advice and inspirational interviews with celebrity Dads–Space champions who are keen to discuss Dad related issues. The aim is to enhance the 'brand of Dad' and to de-stigmatise the notion of seeking help.

In addition to the informal learning campaign, Dads-Space also offers an innovative web-based approach to enabling and supporting men’s relationships with their children, particularly when they are living apart. Users can set up profile pages and upload photos, as well as communicate with each other via instant messages and email within a moderated space. An activities section allows Dads to play games online with their children and suggests activities they might do together when they meet up.
