Requirement
The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) wanted a resource to support professionals in following the new procedures to be followed when a child dies and, in particular, in the event of an unexpected death of a child.
Solution
BDP Learning produced a realistic docu-drama on DVD featuring professionals – police, social workers, medical workers – playing themselves to ensure complete authenticity and audience buy in. The DVD demonstrates in practice the statutory guidance in Working Together to Safeguard Children (2006). The DVD is accompanied by a CD and a set of frequently asked questions that may be raised in the course of watching Why Jason Died.
