Brain Trainer

With millions of adults struggling with literacy skills and numeracy, the challenge facing the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) is how to effectively engage adults in lifelong learning.

Brain Trainer is a pilot programme commissioned by LSIS and is being developed and tested with practitioners and learners.

The project uses the mass appeal of handheld devices similar to DS and Wii, developed by Nintendo,as an entertainment vehicle to create interactive materials, questions and activities which are married with pedagogical teaching and learning principles.

The gaming environment can be accessed via handheld devices, online or in a downloadable format.
